Partners in Flight, Inc
Partners in Flight originated in the heart and mind of Bill Kress, a master magician, who
found the real magic in life through his experience with the Hyacinth Macaw. Partners in
Flight, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, was formed in 1997 to help save this
magnificent bird from extinction in the wild. In the process of this preservation
work,
other urgent considerations surfaced that expanded the efforts of the Partners Group into
four main areas:
- Foremost is still the establishment of the New Habitats for the Hyacinth Macaw Program
to replace destroyed areas. Acquisition of an island suitable for the release of the
endangered macaw was initiated through financial development efforts and real estate exploration.
Also, a breeding program of parent raised Hyacinths and Golden Conures was begun
for release back into their natural habitats.
- The Educational Programs evolved from the need to make the public aware of the avian dilemma.
An annual awareness program was started using Mr. Kress' magical abilities in a show called "Experiencing
the Real Magic." An educational program specifically for the school systems was also designed to build upon
our future avian protectors. Future plans include a Rainforest Theater.
- Another facet of Partners in Flight came into reality with the invitation to join ranks with the
Vines Botanical Gardens in Gwinnett Country, Georgia... to open walk-thru aviary settings through
the Public Enrichment Program. Pet assisted therapeutics was also initiated in schools and nursing
homes. These two aspects are still in the expansion mode, and have shown to be effective in meeting the public's
personal desires
- Concerns over the Enhancement of the Lives of Captive Birds became the fourth area into which
Partners in Flight will venture. An Avian Care Center and an Avian Specialty Hospital are chartered as future endeavors.
We are striving to apply the Noah Principle, "no more prizes for predicting rain, only for building
arks."
The opportunities are growing. Partners in Flight are in the midst of a major growth phase.
Please assist as we endeavor to guarantee the presence and well being of magnificent birds.
